Board certified by the American Board of Urology Dr. Chopra is board certified in Adult and Pediatric Urology since 1984 from the American Board of Urology and his second board certification is with the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He had his own private practice of urology before merging with Atlantic Urological Associates. He received his medical degree from the University of Allahabad Medical School in India in 1967 where he also completed a Master of Surgery (M.S.) degree in 1970, keeping a faculty position at the medical college. The following year he proceeded to England for higher training and was made a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) of England in London, England in 1975. Crossing the Atlantic, he completed post graduate training in adult and pediatric urology at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Tampa, Florida and Minneapolis, Minnesota at the St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center, Gillette Children's Hospital and Hennepin County Medical Center in 1982. He was recruited by Florida Health Care Plan as the plan's first urologist to establish the Department of Urology prompting his move from Minnesota to Florida, which he has never regretted.
