Atlantic Urological Associates Receives National Recognition

Michael S. Grable, MD, FACS, President and CEO of Atlantic Urological Associates announced that Atlantic Urological Associates will be featured in the Medical Group Management Association’s new Performance and Practices of Successful Medical Groups 2007 Report.  “This is a significant achievement for our practice to be recognized at the national level, and echoes our commitment to be the premier provider of Urologic care in Central Florida” Grable said.

This is the second consecutive year that Atlantic Urological Associates has received this honor, making it the only private medical practice in the Volusia-Flagler area, and one of the few medical practices in the state to achieve this honor.
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) is the nation’s principal voice for medical group practices.  Each year, MGMA compares the performance of medical groups based on profitability and cost management, productivity and capacity of staffing, accounts receivable and collections, and patient satisfaction.  The MGMA report found that compared with “other” medical group practices, “better-performers” are more likely to:

  • Have already invested in Information Technology
  • Have conducted more medical procedures per year than their counterparts
  • Have better collection percentages and substantially lower levels of bad debt.

Atlantic Urological Associates is comprised of 12 Urologists serving Volusia, Flagler and St. John’s counties, with 8 office locations.    The practice specializes in the diagnosis, care and treatment of disease of the male and female urinary tract and male reproductive system, including prostate, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, vasectomy, kidney stones and cancer.  The practice actively participates in research and clinical studies, and offers state-of-the art methods of diagnosis and treatment to patients.
